Pastora (shepherdess in catalan) is a 100%wool dk weigh yarn, non superwash and plastic free. It is a specific breed yarn made from Ripollesa sheep wool, an endangered sheep breed from Catalonia.
It is produced locally: the wool is sourced in Catalonia (north-east of Spain), then we send it to the north-west of Spain, were the last scouring mills of the Iberian Peninsula fight to survive, and finally it come back to Catalonia to be spun and dyed.
Pastoreta is a 3ply yarn and it’s structure make it perfect for any purpose: stockinette, lace, cables, stranded knitting… Although it is a fingering weight yarn, it also works well with knits designed for light fingering and sport. It is available in natural (Fòssil and Fum) and a selected dyed shades.
Hand wash and dry flat.
